Wednesday night was a tough night. I found that I couldn’t look at my cell phone or my laptop due to the sharp pain in my eyes (primarily my left one). I figured I need to seek immediate medical attention so the next day I went to the ER. After some tests I was told to go to the Eye Outpatient Centre. At the Centre, my eye pressure was shown to be normal, meaning that this wasn’t related to Glaucoma and wasn’t caused by my multiple myeloma or chemo treatment – I’m on dexamethasone, which has increased my eye pressure in the past.

Instead, I was diagnosed with a viral infection in both eyes – adenovirus. It was worse in my left eye. Basically as it is highly contagious, it was necessary for me to avoid social interaction, minimize contact, and get lots of rest through the weekend. I expect to be back to 100% by Tuesday.
